Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide the public with engaging and exceptional service.
  • Perform duties related to circulation and patron accounts.
  • Assist patrons with the retrieval of books and information, as well as the operation and maintenance of a variety of technologies (e.g., laptops, desktop computers, e-readers, tablets, scanners, emergent STEAM technologies, Wi-Fi hotspots).
  • Preserve cleanliness and order within the library. Perform delivery processing, merchandise, and stock materials.
  • Observe the public areas of the library.
  • Adhere to and implement library policies and procedures; resolve patron concerns.
  • Engage in outreach and programming endeavors, such as setting up and operating audiovisual and STEAM apparatus, to promote library services.
  • Edit records and perform data entry, among other clerical duties.
  • Engage in workgroups and training about the development and execution of initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Potentially involved in special initiatives and unit daily operations coordination.
  • As needed, perform additional responsibilities for the benefit of the library.

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is mandatory. In exceptional circumstances, a portion or the entirety of the mandatory components may be replaced with specialized education, training, and/or experience.
