Duties and Responsibilities:

Obligated to ensure that all camp structures utilized by visitors are kept in pristine condition.

  • Preparing and cleaning every area for the rental group’s use.
  • Cobwebs, windows, and doorways should be dusted.

Sweep porches and floors.

  • Clean mirrors and scrub bathroom basins, showers, and toilets.
  • Mop and disinfect the floor and shower of the restroom.
  • Reinsert every paper product.
  • Empty the can liner and transfer all garbage to the primary dumpster.
  • Identify and substitute burned-out light bulbs.
  • Make beds and distribute towels in all lodges and visitor housing.
  • Vacuum every carpet- and rug-covered veranda area.
  • Gather, launder, dry, and fold any sleeping bags, linens, or other items that rental groups have utilized.
  • Maintain an orderly and spotless environment in the laundry room.
  • Ensure that any cleaning closets are kept organized and spotless.
  • As authorized by the operations director, secure all janitorial and housekeeping supplies and equipment related to guest services, including communication with the linen and bath resource rental supplier. Maintain an inventory of required supplies.
  • Replacement supplies should be ordered via the housekeeping lead supervisor.
  • Restock supplies in the laundry room and clean closets.
  • Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of all cleaning apparatus (mops, vacuums, carpet cleaners, etc.).
  • Fire extinguishers, lights, smoke detectors, and CO2 detectors should all be inspected. As necessary, replace bulbs and batteries.
  • Disclose the discharged fire extinguisher to the Operations Director so that replacement or service can be arranged.
  • Provide support to the Assistant Program Director in carrying out any assigned responsibilities that ensure the program operates with a consistently high degree of efficiency.
  • Ensure that all lodgings and facilities are prepared for the arrival of rental groups.
  • As required, assist with the sanitation of indoor meeting spaces.
  • Maintain a tidy and spotless appearance in the workplace to the greatest extent possible.
  • Attend semi-annual meetings with the Assistant Camp Director and Operations Director to establish priorities and make recommendations regarding the replacement of camp-owned sleeping accommodation-related resources, including mattresses, pillows, bedspreads, blankets, sheets, and towels, as well as housekeeping equipment and tools, including vacuums and specialized cleaning tools.
