General Duties:

Operations/Maintenance:

  • Ensure adherence to the work permit and isolation protocols.

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of general rig apparatus, including lighting, refrigeration plants, HVAC systems, and communication systems.
  • Perform electrical equipment maintenance and repair on the driller’s console, DC drilling motors and auxiliary systems, top drive system, drawworks, muck pumps, and so forth.
  • Perform electrical equipment maintenance and repair on thruster motors and auxiliary units, ballast pumps, control panels, cranes, and more.
  • As necessary, install additional equipment, including electrical wiring, fixtures, junction boxes, and so forth.
  • As needed, provide support in conducting and interpreting positive relay tests, power calculations, power factor assessments, and insulation evaluations.
  • As necessary, study and comprehend electrical schematics.
  • Ensure a sufficient inventory of spare parts to meet maintenance needs; communicate with the Chief Electrician regarding the necessity to reorder.
